Firstly you must be able to work in the UK and have a good understanding of spoken and written English

Before an interview can be arranged you will need to apply to us for an application form, which must be fully completed and returned with all relevant details. Once your application has been received you will be asked to attend an interview.

 

You will need to provide us with the following;

Valid Passport If you are a citizen from an EU member state and hold a passport you are able to work in the UK without restriction.
Visa

You must be in possession of a valid visa which allows you to work in the UK or an original letter from the UK Home Office stating that you are allowed to find employment.

CRB

An original and up to date police clearance from your own country.

You will be required to apply and pay for an enhanced UK criminal records check (CRB).

References We require the names and addresses of three referees, (two professional) who we can contact. They must be able to reply in English.
Driving License We will need to see a valid, clean license and you will need to be a confident and well experienced driver.
Proof of address You will need a somewhere to stay when you are not working, therefore, we require an original utility bill or bank statement showing your home address in this country.
Bank Account / Tax Reference / National Insurance

The agency introduces you to a client and the client pays you direct, therefore, you will be classed as a self employed/ freelance carer and will need to register your details with the Inland Revenue. You will also need to obtain a National Insurance or Tax reference number.

Carers are normally paid by cheque therefore you will need to open a bank account in the UK.

It is advised that you ask your own bank about opening a UK account before you arrive.

Contact To enable us to contact you regarding placements it is important that you have a mobile or land line telephone.

Some personal care experience is required along with an understanding of the values and needs of the elderly person, respecting their beliefs and allowing them privacy and dignity in their own homes.

You must have good cooking skills and the ability to prepare suitable meals for the client along with retaining a record of any house keeping expenditure.
