Many
people with a terminal illness would like the choice to remain in
their own homes for as long as possible or until the end of their
life.
We
can offer a service to enable this to happen. We have experienced,
live in carers who can support both the person and their relatives in
the last stages of life.
For
spouses, partners and family this can be a very difficult time and
quite often all that is needed is an extra person there to take some
of their burden. Our carers are compassionate and understanding and
come with experience and training in terminal care.
They
are there to do as little or as much as is needed and they work
closely with other professionals involved, doctors, district nurses
Marie Curie and Macmillan nurses to offer the best possible care.
Once
care is in place, it is important that a rapport is built between
clients, carers and family so we try to ensure that only two carers
working on a rota are involved. This allows a trusting relationship to
form.

Throughout the last 22 years we have cared for clients with all types
of illness and disabilities, but we feel helping someone in their
final stage of life is so very important.
Our
carers are there to do that by providing support, comfort and respect
as well as the practical side of daily life, cooking, laundry and
shopping.

Frances, the agency manager, has worked in the past for Marie Curie’s
hospice at home service and Sally, the company director, has training
and personal experience in terminal care.
